We heard that phrase quite a lot during our visit to Egypt in the Spring. Much as I would like to think that the citizens of that ancient and amazing land were waiting anxiously for our arrival, I believe that the salutation was usually intended for the Greenbacks in my wallet.
Without question, our trip to Egypt via London was the big event of the year. As we often do, we travelled in the company of our British/Czech friends Andy and Danielle. You will see quite a lot of them as we stroll through London on our way to the Nile.
Except for this excursion, we stuck pretty close to home in 2009. Our annual trip to Yellow Point Lodge in June and a few day trips by bicycle were our Summer entertainment.
My long time readers will notice that this web site has less narrative text than some previous ones. The world has changed since I began making Trip web sites in 1999. Back then, I had to give a fair amount of background on the places we visited because most reference material was in hardcopy. Now, there’s tons of information on the web. Rather than repeat it, I’ve included a lot of hyperlinks. Watch for them.
Let’s get on with the tour, shall we? Just click one of these links to begin your journey to London or Egypt.
We send our hopes that 2009 found you healthy and happy and that 2010 will bring more of the same.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
