Egypt 2009
Nile Journey
Join us for:
• A week on the Nile
• Three days in Cairo
• Five days at a
Red Sea resort
A rainy winter Sunday in Seattle.
Ring, ring...
It’s my friend Andy calling from Leeds. “Interested in a trip to Egypt? Thomas Cook is offering a 10% discount. But you have to act by tomorrow.”
Thirty minutes later, I was giving a nice Yorkshire lass in the employ of Mr. Cook my Visa number. Who knew that British travel agents worked on Sunday?
But as my faithful readers will already know, this is often how things begin. Someone, usually Andy, comes up with an idea for a journey and the rest of us fall willing into line. In this case, the plan was straightforward: a week cruising the Nile from Luxor to Aswan and back, followed by three days in Cairo and five at the tip of the Sinai Peninsula at a resort on the Red Sea. You can see it all on the map.
But -- this was a British trip. We had to get ourselves to London. A quick visit to the British Air web site and the necessary arrangements were made. We even managed to squeeze in a little London holiday in transit.
So, grab a cup of your favorite beverage, and let’s explore Egypt!
