We cruised through Euskal Herria (Basque Country) today. The Basque are an ethnic group that lives in an area that spans France and Spain on the Bay of Biscay at the western end of the Pyrenees.

We stopped in three places: the small fishing village of Getaria, the large and well-known seaside resort of San Sebastián, and the smaller resort of Saint-Jean-de-Luz. The first two are in Spain, the last in France. But I doubt that the Basque think much about the distinction.

Today is a photos-only day. Enjoy.

  1. We totally regret not spending time in San Sebastian. A little more research before we left would have increased its priority for us. A great reason to return to the area!
