I noticed this unusual formation on the last night of our boat trip. I’m not sure what to make of it.
Are these clouds? There’s one, maybe two, thin columns rising from ground level, then an arcing middle rising to a pair of “tornados”.
There’s been wildfire smoke this summer, mostly on the east coast. But smoke typically results in a thick haze. Notice that the sky is otherwise clear.
I don’t know much about clouds, but I thought someone reading my blog might. If you’ve got a theory, put it in the comments.
Don’t underestimate jet contrails.
I’m thinking jet contrails as well!
Um . . . yeah . . . those jet things . . . entrails? They look vertical in this picture, like a Botero mama in heels standing on a hammock . . . but IF they are actually more horizontal, or parallel to the ground, I’ll go with the brain trust on this. Those may be just jet or plain plane spumes, dissipating in the ether.
